The TYR brand is primarily known as a manufacturer of swimming and triathlon products for both professional and recreational athletes.
The company was founded in 1985 in California by Munich Olympic Games bronze medallist (1972) Steven Furniss and Joseph DiLorenzo. The main idea was to offer swimming equipment of the highest quality combined with the latest fashion trends.
TYR takes its name from the mythical Norse deity of warriors and athletes, who was the embodiment of the spirit of sporting competition and a symbol of courage and victory.
TYR works with many top-level athletes and national swimming associations, led by the United States swimming team.
